WESTERN CUBA
Western Cuba possesses some of the most spectacular natural landscapes in the world, and is characterized by rolling tropical countryside, fertile valleys, limestone caverns and underground rivers. The region is also home to rare endemic species of flora and fauna, much of it in UNESCO preserved nature reserves, and a number of small uninhabited islands blessed by beautiful untouched beaches. Cuba’s western region is easily accessible from Havana
CENTRAL CUBA
The ‘soul of Cuba’, as this central region is often called, is accessed via a good six lane motorway running along the backbone of the island to just beyond Sancti Spiritus. Here another main road, the Carretera Central, continues to Santiago de Cuba in the east, giving plenty of opportunity to see the many authentic sights of the region. It is characterized by rolling landscapes, typical thatched huts (‘bohios’), ox-drawn ploughs, dramatic mountains, and picturesque colonial towns, which are home to many architectural reminders of Cuba’s rich past. Central Cuba can be reached from Havana, Varadero or Eastern Cuba.

EASTERN CUBA
Most travelers don’t make it down to this part of the country, and whilst the infrastructure may present a few challenges, you’ll also have a true adventure. Dance the night away in Santiago, discover the wild beauty of Baracoa and trek through green foothills to find Che and Fidel’s hideaway. Eastern Cuba is full of music and revolutionary history and can sweep you away with its rugged charm and Afro-Caribbean spirit.
